While riding my bicycle on the Wekiwa Road west of Sand Springs, I came upon what I believe is a foundation for an old Katy water tower. Just concrete piers, and would not be noticeable except when trees and foliage are dormant.

Its location is just west of the old concrete Katy bridge piers, about three miles west of the Quik Trip on Hwy. 97. I found on the internet (and cannot now find again) a layout drawing of a C&NW RR water tower with a similar pattern of piers. The C&NW piers were on 5 1/2' centers, the same as the piers off the Katy. (My bicycle is conveniently 5 1/2' long over the tire edges!)

Does anyone in the rail fan fraternity know of old infrastructure on the Katy's Osage-Tulsa line? In the 50's there was a "whistle stop" shed off the old Wekiwa Road, on land that is now part of the exit road off the Keystone Expy. Probably just northwest of the Quik Trip. Of course, there are the bridge piers, and between 49th and 41st West Avenue one can still discern the old turning wye.

Several years ago I was an occasional operator. This was in the early period when there was the old building. The early design of the layout was a great undertaking and there were and still some very good dedicated model railroaders. I have looked at the new track plan and you have really developed the old .

Am going to try and visit during an operating session. Had to drop out due to wifes health.
