C&S Schedules

Our Train Schedules are as follows:

Starting, we have two trains that start the session at 01:00 PM. One leave Tulsa for Kansas City  and the other leaves Kansas City to Tulsa.

Then there are 4 through freight trains that interchange part of  there consist at the Osage Yard.  These are the 30 series trains.

Units trains pass straight through Osage Yard without stopping.  We have seven of them.

The Local Freights are also called “Turns”.  These trains depart Osage Yard, travel to either, Afton, Caleton or Claremore, do their car switching and return with  cars they picked up at these locations.  These trains are the 500 series trains.  The amount of turns varies depend on the amount freight and the number of operators at a session.

Passenger Trains: We have four of them; two Fireflys, one Missouri-Pacific Passenger and one ATSF passenger that has been rerouted due to trackage problems of their home road.  Unfortunately, these trains don’t alway get the opportunity  to see the mainline.  Not enough operators.

The other railroads in operation on the C&S are the Missouri-Pacific RR (MOP); The Sand Spring RR and The Tulsa Sapulpa-Union RR, all work without dispatch authority. (In the Dark)  The only time the MOP interacts with the C&S Dispatcher is to obtain permission to cross the C&S at Claremore or to obtain trackage rights through Caleton.  Likewise the TSU has to obtain authority from the C&S Dispatcher to get into the Osage Yard to deliver and pickup cars.

Our poor dispatcher,  sits in another room, not being able to see the layout or what is going on.   His life is looking at a computer CRT to watch the trains travel the C&S mainline and talking to the crews via radio or telephone.  The dispatcher has control over all of the C&S mainline, switches and signals.  Think this is easy – you need to try it once!

We also have a lounge with Coffee, pop at $.50 and water. Rest room facility are available (One person at a time, please).  Unfortunately, we are not completely ADA complient, yet.

Sure hope you can attend one of our operating sessions.  They are on the second Saturday of each month.
