Work in Progress

The Sand springs extension is now fully operational. Scenery work is in full swing. Many structures still need to be completed and installed. Graeme Nitz has undertaken the construction of Wheatley Valve. Vigo Dog Food still needs to be completed. Thanks to Terry Jenner for doing Sunaco oil. Larry Munro’s hard work on the Sand Springs extension has made this a fun switching job that is challenging with lots of traffic.  We still have one switch to install for Vigo Dog Food Plant.  Scenery also is taking shape, thanks to Dave Salamon and Jay Hastings.  Won’ be long now before Sand Springs will be finished.

Future projects planned are:

Widening the track clearence in Oologah.  One end is too close.

Re-ballast some, if not all of the C&S mainline.

Install lights in all of the buildings on the layout.

Install working road crossing warning lights and gates.

Rework all of the individual car cards for each rail car on the layout.  Our present cards are getting kind of shabby and worn out.

Possibly converting our control system from Rail Command to a DCC System.  Problem with this is the cost…  But worth planning for.  Will our present dispatch system work with a DCC System or will we have to rebuild that also?

And anything else anyone can think of.
